Hello from Vancouver Island

My name is Carol Anne Shaw and I am thrilled to have discovered Absolute Write, and really look forward to participating with such a vibrant group of writers. What a wonderful place this appears to be!

I write for young adults, and am the author of the HANNAH series (Ronsdale Press). My latest book, Hannah and the Wild Woods, has just been released, so it's been a very exciting time.

I live in Cobble Hill on Vancouver Island; it's a rural community, and my husband (an artist) and I live on two acres in a little house at the end of a quiet road in the middle of the forest. It's pretty wonderful.

I taught high school art for a bunch of years at a local high school, but last year jumped ship to write full time. It's scary, but if not now, when? (And I'm getting pretty good at making meals from potatoes to save $$ :)

When I'm not writing, I'm painting, or hiking the local trails in the Cowichan Valley.

I have two grown sons, and a lazy beagle.

Am so looking forward to learning more about all you people here.
