Tennessee County Wants To Opt Out of God's Wrath

Some people in Blount County, Tennessee would rather not go down with a sinking ship. However, a majority of the commissioners decided they didn't want to get into this BS and quickly shot it down.

Quote:

The Blount County Commission on Tuesday night declined to take up an agenda that featured a resolution regarding gay marriage.

The quick 10-5 vote during the commission agenda meeting left some in the audience unhappy. They'd come prepared for a debate.

The resolution sponsored by Commissioner Karen Miller asked God to spare the citizens of Blount County from an anticipated wrath associated with the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in June that legalized gay marriage across the country.

Breaking her silence to the media, Miller said in response to the meeting adjournment: "I had no idea this was going to take place. I was totally in the dark. It was a total surprise."
Miller said she would "most likely" reintroduce the resolution and looks forward to hearing the differing opinions.

"People have a right to speak," Miller said. "They're here. We're here to represent them, and they're here to speak to us. And I'm very disappointed that it was cancelled."
