So I started this WiP. Never really tried creative writing before, but I always wanted to do something creative and I can't sing, play an instrument, code, or shoot film so it had to be writing. I was at the time writing for this video game website that was suffering a slow and painful death ever since it's inception and this guy who was editing my work there offered to beta read the aforementioned WiP. We got through about 40k words together before the site finally died and he just sorta awkwardly stopped responding to my messages, whether they be about the WiP or unrelated matters. I decided to soldier on alone and got through at least 10k words before I decided that I worked better with an audience so I 'came out' to some members of my family and a close friend to get them to look over the WiP. Unfortunately they all have better things to do than read my work. Now I just feel a little lost. I like being able to finish a 2.5k chapter, send it to a guy, and get some feedback before continuing. I've put too much effort in to not finish, and giving up never really felt good to begin with so I'm asking you for help.
My WiP is a modern fantasy, or at least I think it is. Honestly I'm rather inclined to just write and let other people sort out the genre. I have at least 50k words and I'm probably going to end up with way too many words by the end, but hey, that's what second drafts are for, right?
I'm currently a student studying in EST and I will have time to talk at the very least twice a week.
Just a quick warning: This is my first real attempt at writing a novel and it's probably terrible, bloated, and boring. Also it's laden with obscenities.
Need a beta reader.
