I just joined a new writing group in Salem

I had already been there once, just to see how it worked. But yesterday, someone left the group and I was the next on the list. So it's a small group with a handful of men and women who are in various stages of their own writing careers. Two stories per session are sent to everyone in the group a couple of weeks before the session, and generally the idea is to have some notes and feedback for the writer at the actual meeting.

My own turn may be a while in coming, but that's fine for a couple of reasons. Sometimes people give up their spot and the next person on the list gets the opportunity to be bumped. But otherwise I'm in no rush to have anything critiqued just yet, and my main goal is to earn my keep by reading and responding to the work of the other members as much as possible.
