I have two ideas. I'm not sure if they're both novels (one might be a novella, or a novelette, who knows), but they're both in their first draft stages. One I'm really passionate about and probably needs more planning and isn't, from what I've heard, "first novel" material. The other idea is simpler and I wrote maybe 20k of it before dropping it for a while, and I think I might want to revise those 20k and continue it.
I know plenty of people write new things while they're editing, but has anyone else tried to write two first drafts at the same time? Did it work out? Why or why not? I guess my biggest concern is the two of them becoming too similar.
