Where does M-Grades end and YA begin?

Hi all,

Can you give me your take on the demarcation between these two, with any other traits/details you may wanna throw in to help me wrap my mind around differentiating these genres?

For example, is it determined by reading level only? Or does subject matter have a bearing also?
