So I've shown I'm capable of making thoughtless remarks. (Surprise!) Mac recently pointed out that another common statement she's run into is "Oh, I didn't even know you were gay!" as if it were a compliment.
Do you have any (least) favorite remarks that seemingly gay-friendly people make that aren't really all that gay-friendly?
btw: I did go to the "Heteronormative Dope" thread, but most of the links are dead.
ETA: I don't consider myself a heteronormative dope. I prefer to think of myself as an equal-opportunity dope.
