I am trying to figure out synonyms for roar that I could use in my lion story. I am editing it to be more evocative. So far for when Anapumua Moto comes across the lioness I have:
At last he found the lioness.
He roared a greeting “Hi, What’s your name?”
The lioness roared softly back “Hi. I am Nala. Who are you?”
Anapumua Moto said “I am Anapumua Moto. I am very friendly.”
Nala said “I am also very friendly. I assume you are looking for a pride. I can lead you to another lioness.”
Anapumua Moto said “Oh, thank you.”
So Anapumua Moto followed Nala to another lioness. Her name is Kanya.
He now roared to tell everybody that he now had a pride of his own.
I am thinking of replacing the said with something that means or has a similar meaning to roar. But I am not sure what other words I could use besides roar for the sound a lion makes most often.
I have had no luck searching for synonyms of roar that have to do with lions.
I so far have only phrases that have roar in it.
So what could I use other than roared, roared a greeting, and roared softly back for when lions are having a conversation?
