Reached an impasse: sleep or writing. HALP.

mercredi 7 octobre 2015

Due to various things going on in life (work, school, making dinner, school, house keep-up, etc., school) I feel like I've reached an impasse. It's been hard to fit writing into my schedule throughout the day, Either I seem to over estimate how much time I have, or under estimate how much Important Stuff I have to get done. I've often told myself not to beat myself up over how little time I spend on writing. I know that 30 minutes one day will lead to 45 min the next, and then 60 the next. Baby steps, ya know?

But there's been quite a few days where I stand there for a few moments, blink through my haze from helping the wife get ready for work (I pack her lunches), and think "I could stay awake for a bit and do some writing..."

But I don't!

I instead go back to sleep for a few hours. Even on days when I have Important Stuff to do in the morning, I opt to nap for that extra hour or so.

I know part of the problem. I love sleep.

I love naps.

I love them so much that "napping while listening to favorite music" is in my Top 5 of Best Things to Do Ever List.

I know this is the easiest way for me to start writing again. I know that once I'm on a schedule I bust out writing like a pro (word count wise). But...

But sleep!

Does anyone have any ideas or advice for me?
