Lately I've begun to worry my fantasy novel's plot is a little too simplistic. It has some twists and curves, but the main protagonist is generally only focusing on one external problem at a time.
So I ask, how much complexity should be in a fantasy novel's plot? Assuming the author (me) wants a good chance of picking up an agent+publisher and selling the story, I mean. I full-well know there are many styles, and I'm not implying one is superior to another. Just thinking of marketability and popularity right now.
Proper amount of complexity in fantasy plots
