Looking for Sc-Fi Beta Reader/Beta Swap

samedi 3 octobre 2015

Hey everyone,

I am FINALLY looking for a beta reader to help me out with what I hope is my almost-ready-to-go novel. It's taken a couple of years and a whole load of advice and redrafting but I'm now approaching the stage where I would love to start the query/submission process. I'm hoping to find someone to help give me some final, realistic feedback on things like pace, plotholes, characterisation, engagement etc.
Dyrne Samson is a historian. But he doesn't use books to research the past. Along with his colleagues, he works for the government using advanced - and secret - technology to"visit" the past, cataloguing and reporting on what he finds. As wellas keeping his occupation hidden, though, Dyrne is keeping secrets ofhis own. He has recurring nightmares about a dead body. He is obsessed with an equality campaigner he only met once. And he is lying to everyonearound him about what he wants to 'visit' next.
Turning the Hourglass is a 90,000 science-fiction mystery with occasional swearing and no sexual content.

If you are working on your own MS and are interested in doing a beta swap, I like reading other sci-fi, potentially fantasy/supernatural/gothic horror or just some really interesting literary fiction, ideally around the same-ish length as my own book. PM me if you're interested :)

Thanks!
