From the "Thoughtless Remarks" thread:
The other day, I was talking to a pastor who used to be a high school teacher (and her husband still is). I said something like the above to her, and she replied: "Actually, in high school now, being gay IS cool. At least in a certain population."
To be clear, she WAS NOT implying that LGBTQ teens identify as gay simply to be cool. She meant that those in the "Q" (questioning) category are more likely to identify as gay because it is much more acceptable that it was.
I didn't know how to respond to that since my high school experience lies in the dim reaches of the ancient past.
So I wondered if those of you whose high school experience is more recent would know if that's true.
