I found a wonderful critique partner here several years ago; he retired, so I'm hoping to find another! I'm an agented writer of young adult novels (mostly horror, thrillers, urban fantasy, and/or magical realism) with one adult novel published by a small press and a handful of published short stories, plus one MS currently on submission. As noted, I'm looking for a CP for a long-term/multi-novel relationship. Ideally, it will be someone who writes in the same genre as I do (although I read widely, so it's not a deal breaker if you don't write YA but do enjoy reading it), and someone with CP experience. I'd say my strengths as a CP are discovering plot holes/ensuring continuity and proofreading. I'm fairly good at line editing as well as providing more overarching feedback.
The current draft MS is now in it's fifth revision. A very rough blurb:
Mary spends her nights impersonating the famed lake monster in her rural town, all to satisfy her familys warped idea of loyalty and legacy. Too bad she has to lie to her best friends and give up her dream of leaving to go to college in the process. But when a real life lake monster appears in the lake and eats her grandmothers poodle, everything changesand Mary and her friends may not live to see graduation unless she can figure out where it came from and how to get rid of it before it chomps its way through the town.
I'm happy to exchange first chapters to see if we're a match. Feel free to PM me or email me nmwolv@outlook.com. Thanks for considering!
