I've been puzzling about something. Is dialogue showing or telling? As in the following example.
Janice's voice was higher than usual.
"My front door was unlocked tonight when I got home from work. I thought of calling 911. Instead I got my pepper spray ready and opened the door all the way to make sure no one was hiding behind it. Then I went all through the house, looking at all the places where someone could hide, ready to spray them. Keeping my back trail open all the way so I could run out and hit the screamer button on my pepper spray."
Her voice was higher still.
"I made abs sure I locked up today. But tonight it was the same thing! WHAT is HAPPENING?!"
