I would add that it's a little more serious than "just" a love story. It's told from the 1st person PoV of the English teen, Winnie, who bit by bit gets her unconscious sense of privilege stripped away. Revolution is coming, and she has to take sides. That, for me, is the real story but obviously the publisher is more focused on the love story -- which is fine by me, as that was the inspiration for the book! The political elements came later, during the writing. Really, I just wanted to write a story based on my grandmother's life. It's the first of a trilogy.
