I know this is an unusual question, and I know that this is not the place to ask for legal advice, but maybe, somebody can give me an answer or direct me to a source where I can find one.
Let's suppose that I have written a few successful books. I am single with no children. All I have are a few distant relatives I don't care for and don't want them to receive my royalties.
I do not have a charity in mind and don't want to leave my money to the government. Is it possible to make my work public domain after my death? Basically, I would like to make it accessible for everybody, everywhere without having to pay for it?
For example, what happens if I upload everything to a website and give it away?
Please, don't ask me why I want to know this. I just do :)
Thanks.
