For a few reasons:
1. New-years resolution
2. So I can get this done, and move on to other projects. I still firmly believe that my first few (perhaps more) novels are gunna be crap. So I just want to tear through them.
3. To show my 19 year old self (that little git) that it's possible to write a book in less than 3 years! That procrastinating, useless bastard.
My aim for this novel is 90k words. So...about 50k in 3 months. Certainly possible. As long as I can pull my finger out. Of course this doesn't include the obligatory year of editing.
No, don't worry. I'm not going to be totally strict about that word-goal of 90k. It's not actually a goal for me to stretch out the novel. But the contrary; so I don't go over. My first novel I presumed would be around 70k, and then it went a touch over at 125k. So I really don't want that to happen again. 90k is an even 30k in each of the three parts, and gives me some wiggle room to bring it down to 80k. Woot!
Give me some luck :)
Finishing my story by the end of the year!
