I'm not sure, but I think there isn't an already existing list of places where you can download books for free. Many people can't afford the money for buying lots of books, or the time for dealing with libraries. Yet a hugely important part of learning to write is reading until it comes out of your ears, IMO, so here are two places for free public domain books--from the old timey-classics and not-so-classics, to the 20th century adventure pulps and mysteries and sci-fi and horror and literary fiction. (Also some free stuff from contemporary giants like Brandon Sanderson, Cory Doctorow, Charles Stross, etc.)
I think that having access to such collections where you can read and analyze books from the 19th century, from the 20th century, and from today, is a help for the beginner writer.
If this whole idea is OK, and if other people give similar addresses, I'll include them in the list.
