I would love to have a beta reader, or a few if that's possible. I'm willing to read your novel in return. Nothing over 65K. Preferrably YA, mystery/suspense/thriller/paranormal/horror. Here's a blurb:
Seventeen-year-old Anne Diver is fascinated with a dead girl. While working in her parents cemetery, Anne develops a weird obsession with Mary James, a young girl who died the same age Anne is now. And since Mary died in the 80s, Anne is a bit of a hoarder when it comes to her 80s collection from Bon Jovi posters to Strawberry Shortcake Dolls. Anne considers Mary as a friend and when she talks to her gravesite, she can swear Marys listening.
When a few kids from school trash the cemetery, Anne meets Betha girl from the group. Taking Annes side, the two hatch a plan to get the kids out of the cemetery. Annes new friendship grows over the next few weeks and the two become inseparable.
The town has been on edge over the disappearances of two teenage girls. With the help of her friend, Anne starts digging around for clues. When Anne finds a rabbits foot key chain at one of the memorial sites and another near Marys grave, she thinks it may all be linked somehow. As Anne gets dangerously close to finding the killer, she fears shes being followed. Now with her life in danger, Anne must find the truth behind it all, before shes the next missing girl in town.
Cemetery Girl is a 62,000 word young adult mystery with references to 80s pop culture.
