Max der Dachs (Max the Badger) is the mascot of a pedestrian safety program for children from the Swiss insurance company AXA. In both the German and Italian versions of the website ( max-der-dachs.ch ), his species is clearly stated (Max der Dachs, Max il Tasso) but the French version refers to him as Max le futé (Max the smart). The French word for badger (blaireau) appears nowhere on the French version of the site. Is the word "blaireau" inappropriate for French-speaking children? And if so, why?

Is the French word for "badger" something French-speaking Swiss children shouldn't read?
