Editing help needed: How do you insert scenes?

I'm editing and finding that I need to add, oh... five or ten scenes to make the story flow right and have the depth I want it to have (and the amount of complications). Some of those scenes alter the ones that come after or before. So here's my question: When you have to add scenes during edits, do you add all of them and then make it all flow, or do you add and stitch in one at a time so that when you finish adding they're all how they should be? Or do you do something else I haven't thought of?
