Agent wants CV with novel query

One of the agencies I'm thinking about querying asks for first three chapters, synopsis and a CV. I'm wondering why an agent would want to see my CV. Most of us have day jobs, which probably don't have any relevance to the book we've written. Or is there a different kind of CV that an author submits?
